Day 2 of this two-part series on capacity building in Forest Service Region 5, is brought to you by the National Forest Foundation.

About Day 2 of the Workshop 

The NFF workshop will focus on building capacity around governance and decision-making; public education and engagement; planning with the Forest Service; and funding for collaboration, implementation, and monitoring, among other topics recommended in the capacity needs survey administered earlier this year. The workshop will involve a combination of peer panels, tabletop exercises, open space, and plenary discussions.

Travel Logistics

  • There is no hotel room block for this workshop. We have pulled together THIS LIST of nearby lodging options, you will have to make your own hotel registration.
  • Parking is provided. Pick up your parking pass on-site at registration.   

Travel Assistance

NFF is providing a modest number of needs-based scholarships available to support participation in its May 24 workshop, and associated travel and lodging. 

If you need such support please complete THIS FORM and remit following the attached instructions by April 26.

Please note that scholarships are restricted to organizations working on California National Forest issues. 

Information on Day 1

The workshop will focus on all-lands management, from planning to implementation, and will foster discussion about existing tools and authorities for all lands-lands management implementation, facilitate work sessions to discuss specific ways to advance individual projects, and identify future opportunities for partnership with state and federal agencies. Travel and lodging support is available for participants in the Sierra to California All-Lands Enhancement (SCALE) effort.
